“Waiting Station to the Rabbit hole”
When I created this piece I was deep into a massive installation painting 100 linear feet of walls. But it was this section with the vivid Kelly greens amassing over the iron ore black, accompanied by the contrasting whites and stained sunflower yellows that I found this sense of place like the subway station in New York city. It reminded me of the Matrix as Neo waited to get passage from from one world to another. I had felt I was at such a place, working 18 hour days to complete this massive installation in time for its exhibition as I worked simultaneously on many walls depicting many place, each being constructed and deconstructed to reflect the passage of time from decades to centuries.

Each piece is hand carved out of its printed archival paper and mounted into plexiglass by the artist. Garcia choose to make a print that would mimic his originals by the uniqueness of its organic shapes and the floated look that casts a shadow replicating its organic nature. These prints are limited to 11 and will not be remade in this size.
