I often contemplate life and the emotions that flurry our journey, reflecting on times once had and how they propel us forward. This work was at a time of great heartache, when I felt everyday was just a repetition of loving, working and a feeling of dying. Trying to get through the day and sustain some semblance of normalcy. In the end I had learned a lot about where I was and where I wanted to go but most importantly that I was alive and had an outlet like art to create a piece from a hard place. It reminded me how lucky I was, to not only have this outlet and capture an emotional moment in time, but to feel so deeply.
